I was beyond thrilled win I found out about this new series being written by this talented author. Not only is she a friend, but she's also written some great books as Killian McRae.
After Andresium loses their last empress, it is Tallis's destiny to take over as "The Loren" and an immortal. But she refuses and attempts to outrun what has been foretold in prophecy.
The immortals aren't what they used to be and as the prophecy begins to unfold, Tallis struggles with what she knows she should do or what her heart longs for.
From the very beginning it is clear that Tallis is a high fantasy type of story. Though it's short, a lot is packed in and leaves you wanting more. M.C.'s writing is very lyrical and picturesque, inserting you into the story as though you are already apart of the world. It's not an easy thing to do and I think that M.C. did it with grace and style, creating a world even more intriguing.
Though we don't get a lot of background of the characters or of the world, we are given bits of information as this first part of the series developed. Each character plays an important part and gives us a tiny piece of the puzzle along the way.
I definitely can't wait to find out where this series is headed. With a rather dreadful cliffhanger, M.C. has guaranteed (at least in my case) that readers will want to know more. Such a fascinating world and characters, the possibilities are endless in what she can do and I have no doubt it will leave us all breathless!
